Terry is the founder and President of Virtual Power plants Inc., a company that is committed to bringing energy storage and virtual power plant technology into the mainstream. In this role Terry manages all sales and business development activities. Prior to founding VPPI; Terry spent 10 years developing and building a variety of renewable energy projects worth in excess of $250 million. Inspired by the rapid evolution of energy storage technology and the almost limitless potential of this technology, Terry decided to apply his energy into creating our company. Terry holds a Masters in Applied Science from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. |
Murat Basarir - Strategic Advisor
Murat Basarir has been involved in a broad spectrum of international cleantech projects, such as launching UK’s first wireless charged electric bus startup, part of developing Portugal's first virtual power plant trial and UK’s first driverless pod initiative. Prior to cleantech investments, he has led a nationwide energy efficiency project that has been acknowledged by the Economist, BBC, and has been shown as an exemplary low-carbon initiative by the government. Murat holds a BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University and an MPhil in Engineering from Cambridge University and has completed the Ignite programme at Stanford’s Graduate Business School. |

Carolyn Pittman - Strategic Advisor
Carolyn Pittman, with her 14 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, is an independent consultant specializing in renewables with a focus on regulatory strategy, project management, stakeholder engagement, management and coordination of environmental assessments and permits and approvals, due diligence and environmental compliance. Carolyn brings a proven track record of strong leadership and in-depth knowledge of the renewable energy industry to VPPI. During her 10 years at ENGIE (formerly GDF SUEZ), Carolyn was a key member of the team that developed, constructed and operated over 500MW of wind projects across Canada. |
